Anyone can buy a chainsaw and a pickup truck. Plenty of folks around here do. The problem shows up when something goes wrong: a tree drops the wrong way, a worker gets hurt, a permit fails inspection, and suddenly the homeowner is on the hook because the crew was not really licensed or insured. Timber is different. Here is what we carry, in plain language.
Licensing
Licensed General Contractor in Washington State
Timber Tree and Construction LLC is a licensed general contractor registered with the State of Washington. That license has been on the wall since the company was founded in 2019. It covers the full scope of construction work we do: new homes, additions, ADUs, remodels, demolition, decks, garages, shops, concrete, and site prep.
A real Washington contractor license means we are bonded, we pay into the state's contractor protection requirements, and you have legal recourse if something goes wrong. Insurance
Fully Insured for Tree Service and Construction
Timber carries general liability insurance and worker's compensation coverage. Both policies are active, both are in the company name, and both cover the tree service work and the construction work. That matters because some tree companies only carry liability for ground crews, which leaves you exposed if a climber gets hurt on your property.
We can provide a certificate of insurance directly to homeowners, HOA boards, property managers, or insurance adjusters before any work starts. If you are coordinating with your insurance company after a storm, we can have the certificate in their inbox within minutes. Just ask.
Tree Service Credentials
Safe Climbing, Rigging, and Removal Practices
Tree work is the most dangerous trade in the country. We take it seriously. The Timber tree crew works to ISA-aligned safety standards for climbing, rigging, and removal, with full personal protective equipment, modern climbing systems, and proper rigging gear on every job. We do not freelance with a chainsaw and a ladder.
We have certified arborist consultation available for tree health assessments, hazard evaluations, and reports for insurance or HOA documentation. Additional ISA certifications and TCIA accreditation are part of our growth plan as the company adds crew members. If your job requires a specific arborist credential, tell us at the estimate and we will let you know straight whether it is in-house or whether we bring in a partner arborist.

Timber Tree and Construction is a Whatcom County resident-owned business. Dylan and Taylor Lindsey founded the company in 2019 and they still run it. They live here. Their kids go to school here. Their reputation is the company's reputation.

We work regularly with HOAs, property managers, and small commercial property owners across Whatcom and Skagit County. That means we are comfortable producing the documentation your board or your tenants need: scope of work, certificate of insurance, license verification, arborist reports for tree removal approvals, and clean job-site cleanup so common areas are returned in better shape than we found them.
